These boots were made for walking...

... And thats just what they'll do. Its no secret that backpacking equipment can get pretty pricy and its typically the same way with hiking boots as well. This being the case if you are looking to make a hobby out of backpacking and hiking it may be a wise investment to purchase a quality pair of boots.

It's essential that you get boots that fit your foot well( not too big and not too small). This is important because you will be walking on a variety of different surfaces with varying slopes, getting a boot that fits you will prevent your toes being squished or your feet sliding around in your boots easily causing blisters. Not only is it a good idea to make sure your boots fit properly but it also helps to get Gortex "waterproof" boot to keep your feet dry during the rainy season and for creek and river crossings!

Once you have the proper shoes it beneficial to wear them often in order to break them in for any extended use they may get. It is always a bad idea to wear new boots on an extended hike! Its not only beneficial to have the proper footwear but also remember extra socks so you can keep your feet clean and dry. TRUST ME! These tips are extremely beneficial if you want to enjoy your experience without having a pain in your heel with every step.
